About AEAs

Teachers, students, schools can save time and money with the Iowa Educators Consortium (IEC)

The Iowa Educators Consortium, IEC, offers a number of discounts on products for use by teachers, students and schools.

The IEC is an initiative of the Iowa Area Education Agencies (AEAs). The IEC provides a voluntary purchasing program allowing schools across the state to take advantage of pricing based on the purchasing volume of many schools and the state’s AEAs.

The products include athletics & physical education, audiovisual & computer, buildings & grounds, classroom supplies, food, furniture, health & first aid, janitorial, media & technology, office supplies, paper & copiers, and school administration.

The list of savings for teachers and students includes Adobe and Microsoft software, office products sold by Office Max, Canon digital cameras, video cameras and printers, and software by Kurzweil Educational Systems, Mayer-Johnson and TextHelp.

The IEC frees valuable local education agency staff time in researching and procuring products. Advisory committees work with vendors, manufacturers, product reviews, and product literature to determine the best product/cost value for schools.

For complete details, visit the Iowa Educators Consortium website at www.iec-ia.org.

Iowa Area Education Agencies are regional service agencies, which provide school improvement services for students, families, teachers, administrators and their communities. For more information, visit the Iowa AEA website at www.iowaaea.org.
